Fragmented systems limited the firm’s advancement of its enterprise digital strategy. To set them up for success, our team created a single source of truth, enabling richer insights and AI-driven decision-making.

A leading Tax and Audit Firm provides comprehensive tax, audit, and advisory services to a wide range of enterprise clients. Committed to innovation and leveraging technology, the firm sought to harness its data assets to drive strategy, growth, and operational efficiency.

Challenge

The firm faced several barriers in advancing its digital strategy. Siloed operations created inefficiencies, while the absence of an enterprise view of the client limited visibility into performance and opportunities. Compounding this were data integrity issues and poor data governance, making it difficult to generate actionable insights and support strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Solution

To develop a robust Enterprise Digital Strategy, our team employed a data-driven, stakeholder-focused approach:

  • Conducted over 90 stakeholder and SME interviews to uncover pain points and desired business insights.
  • Led an “Art of the Possible” workshop to define and prioritise business requirements.
  • Mapped end-to-end workflows and the current technical environment to identify gaps and provide actionable recommendations.

We worked closely with the customer to deliver:

  • Digital Strategy Assessment Report outlining current state and improvement opportunities.
  • Target-state architecture enabling advanced analytics, AI/ML solutions, and Generative AI capabilities.
  • Data Governance Model to ensure enterprise-wide data quality and compliance.
  • Defined organisational requirements and skill sets needed to support the new digital platform.
  • Timeline and Implementation Roadmap for phased adoption of the strategy.

We developed a data warehouse leveraging Microsoft Azure Analysis Services and Azure Data Factory. Using Azure Data Factory to connect to various sources and migrate data, the warehouse then analyzes data with the Analysis Services to generate analytical reports. The reports are fed to Power BI, thus enabling users to view them as interactive dashboards in real-time.

A Microsoft Fabric Data Lake is a centralized data platform that brings together data from multiple business systems into one trusted environment. It helps organizations create a single source of truth, making it easier to analyze data, improve reporting, and support AI, analytics, and business decision-making.

A single source of truth ensures everyone across the organization works from the same accurate and consistent data. This reduces conflicting reports, improves data quality, and helps leaders make faster, more informed decisions based on reliable business information.

Microsoft Fabric supports AI by bringing together data, analytics, and governance on a unified platform. With trusted, well-organized data, organizations can build AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions that deliver more accurate insights and automate business processes.

Fragmented systems often lead to duplicate data, inconsistent reporting, and limited visibility across departments. These challenges make it harder to understand business performance, identify opportunities, and make strategic decisions using reliable enterprise data.

Organizations should modernize their data platform when siloed systems, poor data quality, or slow reporting begin limiting business growth. Modernization becomes especially important when planning AI initiatives, enterprise analytics, or digital transformation programs.

Data governance improves decision-making by establishing standards for data quality, ownership, security, and consistency. When business users trust the accuracy of enterprise data, they can generate more reliable insights and make better operational and strategic decisions.

Combining Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric enables organizations to integrate data from multiple sources, automate data pipelines, and deliver interactive dashboards. This helps teams access real-time insights, monitor performance, and make faster, data-driven business decisions.

A modern data platform helps professional services firms unify client and operational data, improve reporting, and gain better visibility into profitability and resource utilization. It also provides the trusted data foundation needed to support AI, advanced analytics, and future digital initiatives.
