The customer is a US-based telematics solutions provider that offers products and services focused on driver safety, operational efficiency, compliance and workforce optimization. Challenge

They asked us to improve their real-time fleet management system and extend it with new components and features. Also, the customer asked us to support their existing customers who were facing bug reports and had feature reports. Additionally, the engineering team worked under the pressure of a tight schedule and changing requirements.

Solution

We quickly assembled a team for development, bug fixes and quality assurance activities across all product areas, including firmware, frontend (mobile and web) and backend. Among other things, we set up a local HW laboratory.

Impact

Orion delivered a comprehensive telematics and safety solution that transformed fleet operations and driver safety. We developed new iOS and Android mobile apps and integrated a GSM detection device to prevent driver distraction. Our platform now supports ELD compliance, OTA updates, and seamless migration of legacy features to a modern architecture. Advanced capabilities include data cross-validation, speed-by-street violation alerts, seat belt monitoring, and integration of collision mitigation systems via CAN bus. With crash and rollover detection, harsh braking alerts, least-cost routing, and continuous driving behavior analytics, we enabled real-time safety insights, streamlined compliance, and improved operational efficiency—accelerating innovation for our client.
